Latest news from the PE Department!

Welcome back to the second semester here at SF/HG.

    We will have lots of fun in PE classes during the second semester.  There are lots more exciting things planned, especially on the 100th day of school.

    An important announcement to parents of Holy Ghost site students.  Your children MUST bring to school a pair of gym shoes that can only be used for gym class.  Because we will be having gym class in our NEW GYM with a NEW HARDWOOD FLOOR, students will not be allowed to wear their everyday shoes to participate.  Students MUST have a pair of shoes that will be dedicated for use during gym class only - a pair that are free of rocks, dirt, and are not black on the soles.  These shoes will be kept at school in the gym area and students will put them on before PE class and will take them off after PE class.   These are the rules that pertain to the new gym and will be enforced.

    We still have some students who are coming to PE class not prepared.  Please remember that PE classes are on MONDAY, TUESDAY,  WEDNESDAY, and THURSDAY and your child needs to have the proper attire for class participation and safety.  

Help your child to be prepared by dressing properly as described below.  Thanks.

    As a reminder, when students come to PE class, they are to wear the proper shoes for warm-ups, running, and other activities.  Be sure the shoes are athletic shoes - and note the new rules that pertain to the Holy Ghost site as stated above.  Girls must wear shorts under their skirts in order to participate in PE.  We do a lot of warm-up activities on the floor.  Students not dressed appropriately can not participate and will receive a non-participation mark for the day.

REMEMBER:     

PE classes are on MONDAY, TUESDAY,  WEDNESDAY, and THURSDAY.  

Please help your child to be dressed appropriately.
