Faculty & Staff Bios
I am Janet Goben, Principal of St. Francis/Holy Ghost School. This is my 14th year as principal. It is a challenging but rewarding position. I taught Jr. High at St. John's in Carrollton, IL, for 14 years and was assistant principal for four years before coming to SF/HG. I am married to Bob Goben who is the golf superintendent at Westlake Country Club. I have two children, Sally Hartwick who is a professor at Illinois State, and Clayton Arnett, a graduate of Western Illinois University and a farmer in the Eldred area. My pride and joy are my grandchildren ranging from 18 years to 10 months of age. I enjoy sports and golfing, spending time in my yard and of course, my family. I am so honored to lead SF/HG from the great staff to the students. SF/HG has so much support from the parents and community which makes our job easier. Being able to have our faith visible throughout the school and through students and staff is such a blessing. I love working at SF/HG!
My name is Janet Williams. I am the secretary at St.Francis/Holy Ghost School at the Holy Ghost site where I enjoy working. I attend St. Francis Xavier Church. I come from a large family and love when we can all get together. I am married and have one son. I truly believe my faith in God gives me the strength to get through rough times. God, my family, and good friends are my rock. My favorite food is lasagna, and my favorite color is red.
My name is Diana Root. I am the secretary for the St. Francis site. I have been here since August 2011. I enjoy my job because it is never the same. I am very organized (in my own way), and I love to multitask. I have been married to my best friend, Ron Root, since 1996. We have three children, Brandon, who is 17 and a senior at Marquette, Gregory, who is 13 and in eighth grade at SF/HG, and Josephine, who is 2 and spends lots of time with her grandmothers. We are parishioners at St. Francis Xavier Church. Our family is based on our faith in God.
